Must Do: Top 3 things to do in Summer

I've decided to split up the 'Must Do' section into seasons, whilst there are some common activities that are fun all year round in Amsterdam, there's no question that some things are simply way more enjoyable in the sunshine (whilst it lasts).
So here are my top 3 things to do in Summer in Amsterdam so far:
1. Visit Bloemendaal Beach: only 45 minutes out of Amsterdam, and you're amidst white sand, blue seas, and sunshine (let's just say it doesn't feel like you're in the Netherlands). Whether you simply want a day out with your friends, play some volleyball, enjoy some delicious food with a sea view, or hit up a beach party there's something for everyone.
2. Bike tour! Yes I know, this is probably something that's on every single website/youtube video/blog post you've ever read when it comes to must do things in Amsterdam, but it's there for a reason! Trust me when I say it will be way more fun to explore Amsterdam's cobbled streets and parks (I would recommend Vondel Park) when you're not wrapped up like a burrito (gloves, hat, scarf, puffa coat etc) whilst also trying to dodge the rain (ask my friend Rosie who visited me in Feb...). The only downside is that it will be extremely busy (peak tourist time), so watch out when biking during rush hour or be prepared to face angry locals.
Something else that came as a shock to me & is probably worth knowing before you set out on your bike is that mopeds and mini electric cars also drive in the bike lanes, so watch out! (more on Bike life in Amsterdam coming soon)
Fun fact: Bikes have priority on the roads, meaning cars, trams, and pedestrians all have to stop for you.
3. Open Air Boat Tour/Party: There are so many different boat operators that run boat tours that will mean you're spoilt for choice. If you're studying in Amsterdam this is often the time that Student Associations will schedule a boat fiesta, so don't miss out!
